What lip blush actually is
Lip blush is a cosmetic tattoo that places soft pigment into the lip to build color and define shape. It reads as a wash of color rather than a drawn-on line, which is why it looks like your lips on their best day rather than makeup.
It is genuinely semi-permanent. Expect one to three years depending on your skin, sun exposure, and lifestyle. A color boost every 12 to 18 months keeps it looking fresh.

Lip blush is $175 right now while Amber expands her lip blush portfolio, and that price includes the perfecting touch-up at 6 to 8 weeks. The touch-up is part of the process, not an upsell. First pass builds the base, second pass perfects the color.
The healing timeline, day by day
Knowing this in advance saves a lot of panic. Your lips will look bolder and brighter than the final result for the first few days. This is supposed to happen.
- Days 1 to 3 — color looks bold and bright, lips may feel tight and swollen
- Days 3 to 5 — light peeling begins, do not pick at it
- Days 5 to 7 — color can look faint or patchy, this is the stage people worry about
- Weeks 2 to 4 — true color surfaces as the skin settles
- Weeks 6 to 8 — perfecting touch-up appointment
Color softens by roughly 30 to 50 percent from day one to healed. We send a detailed aftercare guide and a photo timeline so you know exactly what each day should look like.
Appointment length
Budget about 2 hours 15 minutes. Most of that is mapping, color selection, and numbing. We do not rush the mapping, because the shape decision is the part you live with.
Is it painful
A strong topical numbing cream goes on before we start and gets refreshed during the session. Most clients describe it as pressure and a light sting rather than real pain.

Does any of this actually hurt?
Honestly, way less than you'd expect. We use a strong topical numbing cream before every lip service and most clients describe it as more of a weird pressure than real pain - somewhere between a cat scratch and a light sting. Spray tans are completely painless. Mini tattoos pinch a bit but are quick.
What should I do before my appointment?
We'll send you specific prep instructions the moment you book. General rules: skip caffeine the morning of lip services, no alcohol 24 hours before, and don't squeeze in a workout or sauna right beforehand. For spray tans, shave and exfoliate the day before - not same-day.
